LIVE FOR LIVE MUSIC: Americana Honor & Awards Announces 2019 Performers: John Prine, Elvis Costello, Brandi Carlile, More
The Americana Music Association will host its 18th annual Americana Honor & Awards show at Nashville, TN’s Ryman Auditorium, set for Wednesday, September 11th. Americana Honors & Award is the kickoff to the 2019 AmericanaFest, held September 11th through 15th at select venues around Nashville.The special event will be taped for an Austin City Limits special slated to air on PBS on November 23rd.
The 2019 event will once again be hosted by The Milk Carton Kids and Buddy Miller will serve as the musical director with his Americana All-Star Band featuring Brady Blade, Ian Fitchuk, Jim Hoke, Shannon McNally, Dirk Powell, Don Was, and the McCrary Sisters.
Americana Honor & Awards will also see musical performances by John Prine, Elvis Costello, Brandi Carlile, Delbert McClinton, Mavis Staples, Rhiannon Giddens, Our Native Daughters, I’m With Her, Mark Erelli, Ruston Kelly, Lori McKenna, Maria Muldaur, J.S. Ondara, Amanda Shires, Jade Bird, Erin Rae, The War and Treaty, and Yola.
The event will also feature an awards ceremony, including Lifetime Achievement Honors for Costello, McClinton, Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, Giddens, Frank Johnson, and Muldaur.
